Get AI
Working

For accountants and bookkeepers

Clients find you. More referrals. Records in on time.

AI changed how people find an accountant. We come to you, pick the few fixes that make the biggest difference, and set them up in your own accounts.

For accountants and bookkeepers

The things keeping you up at night.

Searches go elsewhere, referrals are left to luck, and records arrive late.

  • Nobody finds us when they search.
  • Our Google profile looks unfinished.
  • Referrals come, but we never ask.
  • The clients we want never hear of us.
  • The engagement letter sits unsigned.
  • Records arrive the week they are due.

What changed

People stopped searching. They ask an AI.

The same machine now drafts and answers for a practice that once needed a front desk. Get AI Working exists to get that machine working for practices like yours.

  • Then: you had to be in the list

A new client searched, scrolled a page of links, and rang whoever answered first.

  • Now: one practice gets named

Google writes the answer itself and names a practice or two.1 Most people never scroll.

  • What to do: be the name in the answer

Build the profile, the pages and the answered reviews a machine can check, with your Code’s disclosures built in.5

Sources + notes

Asked to recommend a local business in two Blue Mountains towns, an AI assistant named none at all.2 Type “accountants near me” and Google suggests “for small business” and “for tax return” next.3

More than 5,500 tax and BAS agent registrations carry an address across the thirteen councils.4 BAS agents are 41% of registrations in the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury, against 13% in Parramatta and The Hills.4

A new client must be on your list by 31 October: “you can’t notify us on the next business day.”6 Client information in an AI tool can be a disclosure, and the Board says permission “may be by way of a signed letter of engagement.”7

Your practice software may already nudge for a missing document: Karbon says so, read 22 September 2026.8 Xero Practice Manager drafts no AI permission clause, and no bot we set up gives tax advice.

  1. Verified. Google’s AI features documentation, 10 December 2025: “There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary.” The four things that get a page quoted are a controlled study of 252,000 trials, arXiv:2605.25517; our Get Found page carries it in full.
  2. Measured by us. Two questions put to an AI assistant on 25 August 2026 for a Blue Mountains business: asked for the best agents in the Lower Blue Mountains it named two franchise brands and no local firm; asked who to use to sell a house in Glenbrook or Blaxland it named no local business at all. One day and two questions is a shape, not a benchmark, and the reason we re-run the questions monthly for every client.
  3. Measured, and localised to one machine. Google’s public autocomplete endpoint with the Australian parameter, 13 September 2026, raw responses saved. “accountants near me” returns “accountants near me for small business” and “accountants near me for tax return”; “ai for accountants” and “ai for bookkeepers” each return an “australia” completion. The machine is in the Blue Mountains, so this is evidence of phrasing, not of volume.
  4. Measured. Tax Practitioners Board, TPB Public Register, data.gov.au, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, the export of 13 September 2026, downloaded and counted 15 September 2026. Registered rows with a business address, placed in a council by suburb using ABS mesh-block files: 4,658 tax agent and 909 BAS agent registrations across the thirteen councils, 5,567 in all, closer to firms about 1,742 organisation registrations. A row is a registration, not a practice, and 3,701 registered rows nationally carry no address, so the count is a floor. BAS agents are 41% of registrations in the Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury together and 13% in Parramatta and The Hills.
  5. Verified. Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, F2024L00849, Compilation No. 3, read 15 September 2026. Section 100(1)(a): for a registered tax or BAS agent with 100 employees or fewer as at 31 July 2024, the obligations apply from 1 July 2025, including a documented system of quality management (s 40) and client disclosures given “in writing ... in a prominent, clear and unambiguous way” (s 45), with the Determination’s own example being publishing it on the website used to promote the services.
  6. Verified. ATO, Ensure clients are covered by your lodgment program, last updated 1 July 2026, read 15 September 2026: “To ensure new clients are covered by your lodgment program for 2026-27, you must notify us of your authority to act by: 31 October 2026 for income tax … You can’t notify us on the next business day.”
  7. Verified. Tax Practitioners Board, TPB(GS) 55/2026 The use of Artificial Intelligence and the Code of Professional Conduct, issued 22 July 2026, read 15 September 2026: it treats client information entered into an AI tool as a possible disclosure under Code item 6, and says “the client permission may be by way of a signed letter of engagement, signed consent, or other communication.” It names “chatbot functionality, including ability to provide tailored advice in response to specific input” as AI inside the Code, which is why no bot we set up gives tax advice. Tax Agent Services Act 2009, Compilation No. 26, s 50-10: advertising a BAS service while not a registered tax or BAS agent carries a civil penalty of 50 penalty units for an individual and 250 for a body corporate.
  8. Verified. Karbon (karbonhq.com/feature/client-portal/ and /solution/workflow-automation/), read 22 September 2026: “Let Karbon do the chasing for you by automating client requests and reminders” and “Stop chasing clients for missing information. Karbon sends task reminders for you.” Its Engagements feature (karbonhq.com/feature/engagements/) is “a custom proposal builder” the practice fills in, not a letter drafted from a client’s own notes. Xero Practice Manager (xero.com/au/xero-practice-manager/), read the same day: job tracking, time-to-invoice and document e-signing; no automated client-chasing feature and no engagement-letter drafting found on its own page. Neither vendor’s own pages ship a missed-call auto-reply.

What we set up

What it looks like on a real week.

Drawn examples of what we set up, not client results.

The services behind it

What it costs

What it costs, and how you pay.

Three bundles, each priced from a figure that moves with your practice, or any service on its own.

The AU$499 starter does two things first: your Google profile done, and every client asked for a review, lawfully. Spread the payments over 3, 6 or 12 months, interest-free, depending on the size of the work.

A bundle is scoped before it is priced, and whatever your practice software already does comes out of it. If Karbon already reminds clients, you are not paying us to do it again.

On a quiet website the Sell More bundle carries adverts in their feed instead of adverts to past visitors, because Google needs enough visitors before it will show those. Why

How it works

The Switch‑On Method.

Five steps, the same every time. Switched on inside 30 days.

  1. Listen

A free first hour about your business, not about AI. You leave with your insight portal: a private page about your business, your trade and your area.

  2. Scope

One page in plain English: what we do, what it costs, what we measure.

  3. Build

Set up inside the accounts you already own. Nothing to migrate into.

  4. Train

Your people shown how to drive it, on your real work, until it sticks.

  5. Measure

At 90 days we measure against day one and show you the before and after.

The method in full

Why us

Six reasons owners pick us.

A local practice that builds in your accounts, hands everything over, and tells you straight.

Rory McNeil
Rory McNeilFounder, in BlaxlandThe person on the call, the person who builds it, and the person who shows your people how to drive it.
  1. We set you up, and it’s yours

We set it up in your accounts, hand over every login, and teach you to change it. You don’t pay us forever.

  2. We pick what fits

No packages. We pick the few things that will make the biggest difference, tell you what’s not worth it, and what you can stop paying for.

  3. It costs less to start

Start from AU$499, with the price in writing before we start. Three months’ support included, then optional at AU$99 a month.

  4. We’re where you are

We’re local. We sit down with you in your business, and you can always reach a real person.

  5. It moves fast

Most things are set up in days or a few weeks.

  6. Someone to ask about AI

Not sure who to ask about AI? Ask us: we’ll tell you straight, and we can set it up.

Included with every paid engagement

One hour with us, in person, on the AI you actually want to ask about.

A free workshop on Claude Code or Codex, for you and whoever you bring. Everything we build afterwards sits on it.

  • Ask what you actually want to ask

Whether it will replace you, what it gets wrong, what it costs to run. No question is too basic.

  • Say what worries you

Customer data, staff, the law, sounding like a robot. We go through each one with your business in front of us.

  • Set the goals for the engagement

The hour a week you want back, the enquiry you keep missing. Written down, then measured.

  • Learn to drive it yourself

By the end you can ask the machine to change your website, redraft an email or rerun a report.

Questions

What practice owners ask before they book.

If yours is not here, ask it in your free hour.

Whether you can get a practice recommended by ChatGPT

Partly, and honestly. Google says in its own documentation that no special files or markup are needed to appear in its AI answers, and the one controlled study of what gets a page quoted found four things: that the page answers the question, states prices, carries recent dates, and can be verified from several directions.1

Whether you can put client information into an AI tool

Where it counts as a disclosure, only with the client’s permission. The Board said on 22 July 2026 that it can, depending on how the tool is set up, and permission may sit in a signed letter of engagement.7

Whether a small practice is bound by the newer Code obligations

Yes, since 1 July 2025 for any registered agent with 100 employees or fewer, including a documented quality management system.5

What a bookkeeper can say in an advert

Not a BAS service, unless registered as a tax or BAS agent. Advertising one without registration carries a civil penalty up to 50 penalty units for an individual and 250 for a company.7

What it costs, and what you get for it

Any service on the menu is bought on its own, or together as a bundle from AU$1,790 or AU$2,490. The figure is in writing before you commit a dollar, and it is built in accounts you own.

Who owns the accounts, and what happens after

You do: everything is built in accounts under your own passwords, and whatever we build is yours. Three months’ support is included, then it’s optional at AU$99 a month.
