Get Found
Found on Google. Worth quoting in ChatGPT. On the map, with a call button.
Google answers the question itself now, and the AI assistants name one or two businesses. We make yours the name in the answer.

Getting found
The things keeping you up at night.
Customers look you up before they ring anyone, and more of them now ask an AI assistant instead of scrolling.1
- Customers cannot find us online.
- We are on page two, and nobody scrolls.
- ChatGPT has never heard of us.
- Nobody leaves us a review.
- Our details are wrong on half the internet.
- We paid for this before and nothing changed.
Open, and nobody can find it What AI changed
Finding you used to mean ten blue links. Now it is one answer.
It cuts both ways.
What it brings against you
-
Fewer clicks reach you
Half of Australians say they would take the AI summary and never click through.1
-
Invisible where people now ask
Asked who to use to sell a house in two Blue Mountains towns, an AI assistant named no local business at all.3
-
Reviews do the deciding
Machines and people both read them first. Thin or unanswered, and you are ruled out before the phone rings.
The same machine is the fix
What it opens up for you
-
Worth quoting in the answer
Pages the AI assistants can read and quote, and a monthly check of what they say.
-
On the map where you work
A Google profile set up properly, and your details right everywhere.
-
Found suburb by suburb
A real page for each area you work, showing the jobs you did there.
-
Reviews that sell for you
Every customer asked the lawful way, and every review answered in your voice.
-
Be more than one person
The monthly upkeep, drafted by the machine for you to approve, not left to a spare evening.
-
See it working
One page a month: where you show on Google, what the AI says, what changed.
Sources & notes
Half of Australians say they would rely on the AI summary without clicking through to anybody.1 Google says plainly that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.2
Asked who to use to sell a house in two Blue Mountains towns, an AI assistant named no local business at all.3
- Published. Telsyte Australian Artificial Intelligence Study 2026. Online survey, April to May 2026, 2,023 Australians aged 16 and over. 50% said they would rely on the AI summary without clicking through, and 12% now use AI tools as their main way of finding information, up from 5% a year earlier.
- Verified. Google, Tips to improve your local ranking on Google (answer/7091), Overview of Google Business Profile policies (answer/13762416) and Guidelines for representing your business on Google (answer/3038177), all fetched and read 29 August 2026. None publishes a date of its own, so that is an accessed date. The sentence quoted here is Google’s: “There’s no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.”
- Measured by us. Two questions put to an AI assistant on 25 August 2026 for a Blue Mountains business: asked for the best agents in the Lower Blue Mountains it named two franchise brands and no local firm; asked who to use to sell a house in Glenbrook or Blaxland it named no local business at all. One trade, one day, two questions: a shape, not a benchmark, and the reason we re-run the questions monthly for every client.

The evidence
What we can prove, and what we will not sell you.
Google publishes some of this itself. The rest is one controlled study and one policy page.
“There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary.”
“You don’t need to create new machine readable files, AI text files, or markup to appear in these features.”

Not showing up is four different problems. Find yours in ten minutes
There is no listing, or nobody has claimed it
Google shows local businesses from a free profile, and if nobody has claimed yours it has nothing to show. Search your name plus your suburb: no panel, or a “Claim this business” link, and this is you.
Verified, but still not in the top three
Verification makes you eligible, not visible, and Google says plainly that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.2 Search what you sell plus your suburb in a private window, away from your own premises.
Found for your name, not for what you sell
Your name finds you whatever you do; “plumber Springwood” is decided by whether your listing itemises what you do and where. Search both, and if only your name finds you, this is the common one.
You used to show up, and now you do not
Almost always a data problem, and Google publishes the causes: a post office box, a duplicate listing, a profile nobody logs into.2 Search your name alone and look for two of yourself, “permanently closed”, or nothing at all.
What actually gets a page quoted in an AI answer, and how we know
There is exactly one piece of causal evidence in this field. It ran 252,000 trials with the brand names stripped out, so it measured the content rather than the reputation attached to it.5
Four things drove whether a page got quoted: whether it was genuinely about the thing being asked, whether it stated explicit prices, whether it carried recent dates, and where it sat in the list the model was reading. Edits that changed only the formatting did nothing at all.
That is why this website publishes its prices, dates every figure and names the source underneath. It is the whole of what the Get named by ChatGPT card does, and we sell no Wikipedia article, no Wikidata entry and no posting on Reddit as your own customer.
Four ways a well-meaning business breaks Google’s review rules
- Asking only your happy customers. Google bans it in as many words: merchants may not “discourage or prohibit negative reviews, or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers”.6
- Rewarding a review. Incentives are prohibited outright, including anything offered to change or remove a bad one, and the ACCC requires any incentive to be offered whatever the review says, and disclosed.6
- Asking customers to name your staff. Google names “content that identifies a staff member” as prohibited requested content. A customer naming your technician unprompted is fine; asking them to is not.6
- Editing or hiding the bad ones. In 2020 the Federal Court ordered HealthEngine to pay AU$2.9 million after it admitted not publishing about 17,000 negative reviews and editing about 3,000 more.7
The routine we build asks everybody, every time, with no filter. It is the only lawful version, and the one that produces reviews that read as real, because they are.
Four places your business is listed that no longer exist
- Menulog closedCeased Australian operations on 26 November 2025. Customers and restaurants moved to Uber Eats.
- TheFork closedExited Australia on 31 March 2024. Previously Dimmi, which is the name most venues still have printed somewhere.
- Oneflare closedRetired into Airtasker. oneflare.com.au redirected to airtasker.com when we checked it.
- Whitecoat closedwhitecoat.com.au returned an HTTP 410 Gone, which usually means a page was retired deliberately.
Every status was checked against the platform’s own live site on 20 August 2026.8 Apple Business Connect was retired on 15 April 2026 and folded into Apple Business, so anybody still telling you to claim a Business Connect listing has not looked since March.
Sources & notes
- Verified. Google, AI features and your website, developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features, last updated 10 December 2025. The same page lists keeping your Business Profile up to date among its recommended practices, and stops short of saying Business Profile data feeds AI answers. So do we.
- Published. Controlled study, 252,000 trials, arXiv:2605.25517. Brand names were anonymised, so the four drivers are properties of the content rather than effects of reputation.
- Verified. Google, Prohibited & restricted content, support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114, fetched and read 29 August 2026. No last-updated date is published. The same page confirms what is allowed: merchants may “solicit or encourage the posting of content that does represent a genuine experience, without offering incentives to do so or attempting to influence the rating or the contents of the review”. The ACCC position on incentives is its own guidance on online reviews, read 4 September 2026.
- Verified. ACCC media release, 20 August 2020, HealthEngine to pay $2.9 million for misleading reviews and patient referrals. The conduct ran between 31 March 2015 and 1 March 2018 and was admitted.
- Verified, 20 August 2026. Every platform status in the list above was read from the platform’s own live site that day, including Apple’s notice that Business Connect was retired on 15 April 2026 and folded into Apple Business. Statuses move; the date is the claim.
How it works
The Switch‑On Method.
Five steps, the same every time. Switched on inside 30 days.
-
Listen
A free first hour about your business, not about AI. You leave with your insight portal: a private page about your business, your trade and your area.
-
Scope
One page in plain English: what we do, what it costs, what we measure.
-
Build
Set up inside the accounts you already own. Nothing to migrate into.
-
Train
Your people shown how to drive it, on your real work, until it sticks.
-
Measure
At 90 days we measure against day one and show you the before and after.
Why us
Six reasons owners pick us.
A local practice that builds in your accounts, hands everything over, and tells you straight.

We set you up, and it’s yours
We set it up in your accounts, hand over every login, and teach you to change it. You don’t pay us forever.
We pick what fits
No packages. We pick the few things that will make the biggest difference, tell you what’s not worth it, and what you can stop paying for.
It costs less to start
Start from AU$499, with the price in writing before we start. Three months’ support included, then optional at AU$99 a month.
We’re where you are
We’re local. We sit down with you in your business, and you can always reach a real person.
It moves fast
Most things are set up in days or a few weeks.
Someone to ask about AI
Not sure who to ask about AI? Ask us: we’ll tell you straight, and we can set it up.
Included with every paid engagement
One hour with us, in person, on the AI you actually want to ask about.
A free workshop on Claude Code or Codex, for you and whoever you bring. Everything we build afterwards sits on it.
Ask what you actually want to ask
Whether it will replace you, what it gets wrong, what it costs to run. No question is too basic.
Say what worries you
Customer data, staff, the law, sounding like a robot. We go through each one with your business in front of us.
Set the goals for the engagement
The hour a week you want back, the enquiry you keep missing. Written down, then measured.
Learn to drive it yourself
By the end you can ask the machine to change your website, redraft an email or rerun a report.

Questions
The questions people ask before the first call.
If yours is not here, ask it in your free hour.
Do I need a new website for this
Almost never. Most of what decides whether a local business gets found sits in your Google profile and a handful of pages you already have, and a rebuild is its own service on the menu with its own price.
How long before anything changes
Listing changes show within days, and reviews build over weeks because they depend on how many customers you serve. Ranking for the searches worth winning takes longer than either, which is why we measure at 90 days rather than promise at 30.
Can you get me named by ChatGPT
We do the things the evidence supports and say plainly where they stop, because not one of the AI assistant makers publishes a way in. What is on this page is the one controlled study and the documentation Google publishes, and neither supports a guarantee.
Somebody left a review that is not true, and I want it gone
Google takes down reviews that break its content rules and does not take one down for being unfair, so mostly it stays up. What it does do is show your reply underneath it forever, which is why the reply is the part worth your time.
Is it legal to ask customers for reviews
Asking is fine. Asking only the happy ones, paying for one, or asking a customer to name the staff member who served them all breach Google policy, so the routine we build asks everybody, every time, with no filter.
Do I have to take the whole bundle
No. Every service on the menu is bought on its own, and the bundle is seven of them set up together because they are cheaper and faster done at once.
